In 1996, Source One personnel processed 95,000 documents, inventoried 200,000 records, and processed 9,000 requests for documents. We also operated the records holding area, which contained 3,800 boxes of documents onsite and 3,500 boxes offsite to provide records support to client offices. In addition, Source One managed 5,000 cubic feet of archival records including original survey notes dating from 1910 and security files containing land ownership, lease, and right-of-way documents, as well as other vital records. 

For Western's engineering division, Source One maintained a central drawing repository for all of Western's engineering drawings covering its 15-state operating territory. This file included 120,000 original engineering drawings, 280,000 aperture cards, and 290,000 records, amounting to 3,400 cubic feet of records. Our staff distributed about 38,000 prints and 27,000 aperture cards annually. Our printing operation generated about 400,000 prints annually. Additionally, we archived about 14,000 computer-aided engineering drawings and maintained records of all drawings revisions, status, and numbering issuance.
