Source One provided Records Management services to RFETS.
Our Records Liaison Staff provided expert guidance for managing
records and regular Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule
(RIDS) updates for approximately 20,000 cubic feet of active
records. Also, Records Turnover and Storage Services
personnel received, documented, stored, and retrieved legacy
records totalling over 10,000 cubic feet, both onsite and at the
Federal Records Center. We also managed over 4,000 microfilm
reels, over 3,000 NDT radiographs, and more than 88,000 photo
negatives.
Our Document Management services included
correspondence control, document control, management of
classified records, and mail distribution. Source One
controlled distribution for over 9100 documents critical to Site
safety and quality assurance, including policies, plans,
procedures, and manuals. Our electronic tracking system
ensured that document holders possessed the most current
versions. Satellite Information Management Centers (SIMCs) at
critical locations across the site provided real-time document
control to users and assisted customers in forwarding materials
to Records Management as records become archival.
We managed the DOE Classified Records Vault tasked
with providing access to classified material under the Secretary
of Energy's Openness Initiative and to Executive Order 12598
mandating the declassification of National Security
Information.
Our Media Management services provided
state-of-the-art printing, photographic, and graphic services,
including forms management and convenience copier support. The
group's biggest customer was the DOE/RFFO field office. The
Printing Department served as Government Printing Office
(GPO) liaison and met GPO-approved printing and duplicating
needs of site customers. Photography provided quality
assurance documentation necessary for the decontamination and
decommissioning of site buildings and areas. Our staff served on
the site's Emergency Operating Cadre and often escorted Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) auditors of
incidents, events, and emergencies. Graphics used
advanced equipment and an electronic linkage to Printing that
enabled us to provide comprehensive graphics services.
Litigation Support involved civil cases pending
against site contractors, past and present. Additional support
included subpoena responses involving former and current
employees in civil matters, and responded to Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Micrographics, with its state-of-the-art equipment and
adherence to stringent quality standards, directly supported the
Site Records Administration (NARA) Federal Records Centers. As
records were turned over, they were microfilmed to reduce space
constraints and provide dual storage capability in accordance
with federal requirements.
The Central Libraries included the Technical and
Standards Libraries, which provided storage and retrieval of
RFETS-generated technical reports as well as general reference
material, literature search and acquisition services,
maintenance of current technical and administrative standards,
and access to electronic data sources. |
